Hello guys,
I wanted to share with you something I've been working on.
A few weeks ago I was thinking on new ideas for Destined when some idea popped into my mind. At first, it was supposed to be an idea for Destined and a future season. It would totally change the dynamics of the series but sounded good for a future season. I worked on the plot and wrote the first episode. Once the first episode was finished, I looked at it and realized it had to be more than a future season; it had to be a spin-off of Destined. So, yes, Destined has gained a spin-off: Destined Legacy.
At first, I wanted to wait a little longer to post, but as I grew excited about it, I thought the best thing is to start posting already. Yes, I will have to find time for both series, but what can I do?! When we love something, it just happens. And once the stories don't interfere with one another I think it's cool. Of course, there'll be revelations that will give away what's yet to come in Destined, but nothing bigger and nothing you were not waiting for. And who knows, maybe I'll have Destined characters showing up in Legacy and vice versa. One thing that is different from Destined is that the characters are older than the main characters in Destined were when the show started. I keep the same nine main characters as I like the idea of the Power of Three times Three. The main characters are Warren Descendants of the current Destined Ones. I couldn't have like the whole generation in it because they are a lot, so I picked nine. It doesn't mean that there won't be relatives showing up every now and then. But the main characters are just nine (which is a lot already, but hey, it's me).
So, what's the plot for Destined Legacy?
The Warrens have spilled around the world. Only a few of them live in San Francisco. Almost 20 years before our story starts, Isabelle Halliwell (Jo Halliwell’s eldest daughter and Prue eldest granddaughter), Richard Warren (Paige Helen Mitchell’s eldest son and Junior eldest grandson), and others were killed by a powerful demon whose only goal was to take the Warrens’ powers. After killing many Warrens, the demon succeeds and stole the Warrens' powers. The family was left powerless and devastated.
Middle-aged Charmed Ones Jo, Peri, and Patience made the last sacrifice and even without their powers they managed to imprison the demon, but they never got the powers back and in the process, Peri ended up sacrificing herself to imprison the demon Alastair. Due to the fact that the most powerful witches were powerless and their powers were in an unknown place, the Heavens and Cupid Temple, as well as other superior locations, were closed down and every Whiteligher, Cupid, and other beings who decide to stay on Earth close to their loved ones with the time had lost their powers, including the hybrids of the Warren Line. Magical School was closed down as well. Only those whose bloodline was not related by blood to the Warrens kept their powers. But there were no Whitelighters, or Cupids, or Guardian Angels, or any other magical been whose home basis was closed down to the World, to guard them and help them. Demons, on the other hand, with time, became fearless and started to take over the world, because The Warrens had no powers to fight against them.
Even though they were powerless, some Warrens kept fighting, some of those died in the fight.
Destined Legacy starts with Jo Halliwell's death. Prue, Persephone, and Priscilla were raised by their father (a Whitelighter) and grandmother Jo Halliwell who never gave up on finding her family’s power. 13 years before the story starts, the girls' father died of a heart attack, he had lost his whitelighter’s power so there was not a chance to save himself. 8 years after him, Jo Halliwell dies of old age. Her sister Patience died long before. But Jo never gave up on trying to find her family’s power and she did found them, but she was too weak to fight. And so she left records of her findings.
In 2116, Prue (Jo's eldest granddaughter) is a mess. Losing her mother changed her. Losing her father got her lost and losing her grandmother broke her. She doesn’t care about anything but to find the one responsible for her mother’s disappearance and end it. But without powers, the task seems difficult. She works as a Freelance Photographer. Persephone is the responsible one and who tries to bring her eldest sister to reason unsuccessfully. She has been managing P3, but she a professional cook and wants to open her own restaurant. Priscilla, who works as a secretary, has given up all her tries to have a normal life with her sisters and decides to join Miranda (one of Melinda’s descendants) in New York. The three girls were supposed to be next in line to the Power of Three, the Charmed Ones. They own the bar P3 who was owned by Jo Halliwell and then by her daughter Isabelle and her husband who managed it until he died. Prue cares not about the bar which is managed by her sisters. The three of them live in the Halliwell Manor.
Leonardo (Junior's descendant) is from England and has been living in San Francisco for the past 5 years, but never approached his relatives. He used to work in a Law firm, but has decided to follow a career away from big law firms.
Gabriel (Chris’ descendant) and William (Melinda’s descendent) live also in San Francisco. Gabriel works at P3 on a part-time basis during the nights while he teaches Latin at a local High School. William is an Accountant but gives a hand a P3 every now and then. Both William and Gabriel share the Halliwell - Coop Manor. Miranda (Melinda's descendant) is William's half-sister and lives in New York where she worked as Bartended while finishing her Illustration studies. Pamela (Tamora's descendant) also lives in New York and is a model who wants to finish her career and start her own fashion brand.
Aiden (Charlotte's descendant) is a free soul. His job is to travel and write, as a freelance, about touristic destinations.
Leo, Miranda, Pamela, and Aiden come to meet their relatives after they get their powers back.
