Olivia is eating a breakfast burrito that she got from a local diner.

OLIVIA

I guess this is my miserable life right now. Eating a breakfast burrito all by my lonesome. Man do I miss the time I had when I was living at Cupid Castle.

She sighs and continues eating her breakfast burrito.

CUT TO:

EXT. LANG MANSION-DAY-FRONT AREA

A red corvette pulls up into the driveway, VALENCIA (52), a brunette woman wearing a nice red dress, walks up to the front door and rings the doorbell.

CUT TO:

INT. LANG MANSION-DINING ROOM-DAY

Miranda is having breakfast with her dad, BEN (56), a black hair Asian man, wearing a nice black suit, eating eggs benedict with cinnamon pancakes topped with berries and whipped cream when the doorbell is heard. Xavier, is standing on the corner as he had just poured some orange juice for the two.

MIRANDA

That sounds like the doorbell. I wonder who could be.

BEN

Xavier. Please go ahead and get the door.

XAVIER

Of couse. Mr. Lang.

Xavier then heads out of the dining room to get the doorbell.

MIRANDA

This is really strange. We don’t get visitors so early in the morning.

BEN

It is strange.

MIRANDA

So I tried calling mom a while ago since she said to call her in the morning and no answer.

BEN

Your mom must have been away from her phone or something.

MIRANDA

I just wondered what the important news is.

BEN

I’m in the same boat. Daughter.

Miranda and Ben continue eating when Xavier escorts Valencia in.

XAVIER

Oh my goodness. Mrs. Lang is home. And boy she has news. I’ll you three be. And are you hungry, I can bring you some food.

VALENCIA

That would be nice. Yes Xavier.

XAVIER

Xavier walks out.

MIRANDA

Mom. What are you doing her? Don’t you have a class to teach?

BEN

Honey. It’s nice to see you back. Yea. Miranda makes a good point. You should be teaching right now.

VALENCIA

Well. I can’t hide it. Sorry I was unable to answer when you call me. I was driving. It was a long distance.

MIRANDA

Now that you are here. What is the important news?

VALENCIA

I’m coming home permanently. Found a job at the university in Shellstone City.

BEN

That’s great news. Honey. Right. Miranda.

MIRANDA

Yea I guess. But are you are about this? Teaching at a university like UC Berkeley was a great opportunity but why would you downgrade yourself to teach at Shellstone University.

VALENCIA

Well. Let’s say. Being away from my family is pretty lonely and I missed you all. I came back and took the job offer her to spend more time with my husband and also, you, my daughter. You know, I feel bad not being around throughout your childhood cause of work. I mean, I wasn’t there to see you before you went to off to your prom or even Senior Ball or even your graduation from the university.

MIRANDA

Wow. Wow. Why is all of a sudden you want to be good mother now? What’s the catch?

VALENCIA

No catch. Let’s just say being away from my family and only able to visit during the holidays is sad and it’s been hard. I did this for us to be a family again.

MIRANDA

Well it’s too late. I’m a grown woman now. I don’t need you to be all motherly now.

VALENCIA

Also when I was grabbing gas before I drove home, I stumbled into Johan. He’s a pretty bigshot lawyer now. It’s a shame you ended things with him.

MIRANDA

Mom. Can you stop with that? Johan and I just grew apart. I mean do high school sweethearts really last.

VALENCIA

You don’t know until you try. Please reconnect with him.

MIRANDA

No I won’t. Mom.

VALENCIA

MIRANDA

Because I have someone else in my heart already. And it’s a woman.

VALENCIA

MIRANDA

VALENCIA

MIRANDA

It seems Ben had slipped out during the argument.

MIRANDA

VALENCIA

MIRANDA

VALENCIA

Then it’s decided. Get out of my house.

MIRANDA

Your house. Your house? You have got to be kidding me. You’re barely home and you think you have a right to claim ownership.

VALENCIA

MIRANDA

You know what? If that is what you want, I’m moving out.

Miranda storms out of the dining room.

VALENCIA

Daughter. She doesn’t understand. I just want the best for her.

Ben then walks back in.

BEN

I know you do. But there’s one thing you don’t know. Don’t blame that girl, Valerie. It’s not totally her fault.

VALENCIA

Of course it is. That girl seduced my daughter.

BEN

Dear. Please. Stop thinking like that. It was both ways. Miranda was confused at first but later on, she confessed to me. Your daughter really fell in love with that girl. And when Valerie stop contacting her, it really hurt her and our daughter couldn’t sleep for months.

VALENCIA

How come I never noticed?

BEN

Dear. You been always so busy with your work life that you barely have time to check how your daughter is. And I should tell you. Partly why Johan and didn’t’ work out was because he was cheating on her.

VALENCIA

No way.

BEN

Yes way. It happened after Miranda broke things off with Valerie and saw Johan kissing another girl in the park. And they broke up things. Miranda wanted to reconnect with Valerie again but I guess, that girl, was probably so heartbroken she cut off all connections with her.

VALENCIA

But still. You know these days, being in a relationship, with people like Valerie, is hard. But as a mother, I want her to be happy. Alright. I will try my best to accept it.

BEN

That’s great. Now go apologize to our daughter.

VALENCIA

Wait . Did you hear the last part of our conversation or something before you walked back in.

BEN

Yes I did. Go on. Honey. But eat first. Your food is already here.

Xavier sets the food on the table.

XAVIER

Your food is ready. Mrs. Lang.

VALENCIA

Thank you. Xavier. You are excused now.

He walks out. Valerie sits down and starts eating. Ben takes a seat too.

BEN

I’ll join you. Since I didn’t actually finish my breakfast either.

Valencia and Ben then eat together.

INT. SHELSTONE CITY MALL-MALACHI’S UNDERGROUND OFFICE

Malachi is on the computer and types something up and opens something. He is watching Heather through a camera, resting peacefully.

MALACHI

My dear Heather. You will be mine. One day. The time will come. And you and I will make a great heir.

He continues staring at her watching through the camera on his computer and grins.

INT. UNDERGROUND CAVE-DAY

Phantos is standing in front of a demon, Naios, a burly man with ruffled black hair and a black suit.

PHANTOS

You better not fail me. I don’t want anyone to ruin my plans. Naios.

NAIOS

Don’t worry. Master Phantos. I will do my job. Those three won’t know what hit them.

PHANTOS

Okay then. You know what happens if anyone fails me.

NAIOS

I know. Trust me. I will do it. Take care of those three for you.

PHANTOS

I hope so.

NAIOS

You got it. Soon and your plans will not be messed with thanks to my gifts.

Naios teleports out in a flurry of grey flames. After he leaves, Phantos then transforms into a physical form, a young blonde man, wearing jogging clothes. His phone then rings and takes it out. The caller ID reads Eleanor James and he answers the phone.

PHANTOS

(on phone)

Hey babe. What’s up?

ELEANOR

(on phone)

Where have have you been? Mikhail. I was so worried when I didn’t see you next in my bed.

PHANTOS/ MIKHAIL

(on phone)

Sorry. I couldn’t sleep and went for a jog. I’m jogging back right now.

ELEANOR

(on phone)

Okay. My love. See you soon. Hopefully by the time you jog back. I will be ready with breakfast.

PHANTOS/ MIKHAIL

(on phone)

I’m a fast runner. Don’t worry. Wait for me.

ELEANOR

(on phone)

PHANTOS/ MIKHAIL

They both hang up on their sides. He puts his phone away.

PHANTOS/ MIKHAIL

(to himself)

Oh Eleanor. Who knew I would get a mortal to love me without the need of my powers. When she finds out, boy will Eleanor be in a shock unless I never tell her.

Phantos/ Mikhail then laughs evilly. He then teleports out in a flurry of black flames.

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY P.D.- DAY(STILL)

INT. SHELLSTONE P.D-MAXIMILIANO’S OFFICE-DAY

Maximiliano is thinking about what happened last night during his search on what is going on with the mysterious deaths of young men and women. He starts to think about it.

FLASHBACK TO:

EXT. SAN FRANCISCO STREETS-NIGHT

The streets are vacant. No cars or people are in sight but street lights are still on as Maximiliano is walking along the sidewalk to search for clues.

MAXIMILIANO

There has to be something that can be of use. I have to find out.

He continues walking when he hear a scream and runs towards the sound.

CUT TO:

EXT. ALLEY-NIGHT

A shadowed figure is standing in front of a young man who is cornered against a wall. He continues to scream. The figure then covers his mouth.

SHADOWED FIGURE

Now. Now. Now. There’s no point in screaming. No one will hear me. It’s time to take you the land of dreams.

YOUNG MAN

(muffled)

Please don’t. No please.

The young man starts to whimpers in fear.

SHADOWED FIGURE

What was that? Can’t hear you. Is it a yes to the dream world?

He shakes his head no multiple times. Maximiliano then walks in and fires a shot.

MAXIMILIANO

Let him go!

The shadowed figure turns around.

SHADOWED FIGURE

Well. If it isn’t just a mortal cop trying to stop me?

Maximiliano then points it at the shadowed figure.

MAXIMILIANO

As I said. Let him go. That was just the warning shot.

The shadowed figure smirks.

SHADOWED FIGURE

Silly mortal. Things like that don’t phase me.

MAXIMILIANO

What are you?

SHADOWED FIGURE

Something out of this world. Annoying mortal. I’ll take you to the land of dreams.

The shadowed figure then takes Maximiliano fading into a black hole into the ground.

MAXIMILIANO

( being taken)

No!

CUT TO:

INT. DREAM WORLD-NIGHTMARE LANE-DAY

Together with Maximiliano, along with a few other victims, ROGER, ANDIE, and SAM, have arrived on a lane, and also in front of a sign, that reads: Welcome to Nightmare Lane.

MAXIMILIANO

Where the heck am I?

ROGER

No idea. Some shadowed figure lure me here.

ANDIE

The same for me.

SAM

Me too.

The four of them then get pushed from and the fade out past the sign, not to be seen. Who pushed is revealed. It is Naios.

NAIOS

Poor mortals. Prepare to face your worst nightmares that are to die for.

Naios then fades out through black hole on the ground.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY STREETS-DAY

Maximiliano is walking on the streets, and notices his outfit is different not his Chief uniform but of a regular officer.

MAXIMILIANO

This is so strange. I was just at..

Liam then walks over to him.

LIAM

Come on. Partner. The car is right down. We got a case.

MAXILIANO

Partner? When did I become your partner?

LIAM

Are you okay? Officer Aragon. Did last night fun time affect you?

MAXILIANO

I’m fine. Let’s go. Lead the way.

(thinking)

What is going on? I’m an officer. Just go along till I figure something else.

Liam then guides Maximiliano over to their squad car.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY-THE ALLEY-DAY

Valerie has just tracked down a demon, TREKKER, out to an alley and finds him in a dead end.

VALERIE

Alright demon. It’s a dead end. Nowhere to run.

TREKKER

Silly witch. This was all of a trap.

VALERIE

Wait. What!

All of a sudden, the shadowed figure then appears from a black hole and drags Valerie down.

TREKKER

And my job is done.

Trekker then SMOKES out.

ACT TWO

FADE IN:

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-DAY(STILL)

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLSONE CITY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-HEATHER’S BEDROOM-DAY

Heather is still unconscious, sleeping. And then starts to move around a bit seemingly to have a horrible dream.

CUT TO:

INT. HEATHER’S DREAM-DAY

Inside Heather’s dream, she is seen chained to a wall in a dungeon. Malachi walks over.

HEATHER

Malachi. What are you doing here?

MALACHI

To get you back. My love.

HEATHER

I am not your love. Falling for you was the biggest mistake I had in my life.

MALACHI

Do you really think that? After all I had done for you.

HEATHER

A sick thing. You drugged me to be yours. And got me addicted to those horrible things.

MALACHI

Only because you refuse to give to your desires. I know you love me as much I do.

HEATHER

Demons like you don’t know love.

Heather spits in his face. He wipes it off with his sleeves.

MALACHI

Feisty. Huh. As always.

HEATHER

Besides this is my dream. I can control what is here. Even send you out.

MALACHI

Nope. That is wrong. I control your dream now.

Malachi then waves his hand. The two of them are now in a dressing room. Heather is in a floral like white wedding dress, and him in a white suit.

HEATHER

What the. How?

MALACHI

I’m tired of these games.

He then uses his suggestion power.

MALACHI

( CONT’D)

My dear Heather. You love me. The two of us are about to exit out of this room to marry.

Heather is unable the resist the power of his voice on her. She falls to it.

HEATHER

Yes my love. Let’s get married.

MALACHI

Excellent.

Malachi then walks out with Heather out of the room.

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MALL-BASEMENT-DAY

Malachi was sleeping and now opens his eyes from the dream leaping into Heather’s dreams.

MALACHI

Perfect. My dear Heather. Have sweet dreams. Till I come for you.

He then heads out of the basement walking up the stairs.

CUT TO:

INT. DREAM WORLD- NIGHTMARE LANE-THE STREETS-DAY

Valerie is chasing now after Naios, on the streets.

VALERIE

Come back. Demon. Your tricks won’t get me.

NAIOS

So slow. Witch. Come on. Catch up.

VALERIE

That’s it. Freezing time.

Valerie shoots a stream of ice. It freezes him and then uses her telekinesis to move him against something hard. He then breaks into pieces. She then walks closer.

VALERIE

(CON’TD)

Now that he is gone. Should be able to get out of here.

Naios then eventually revives. And reforms his body again.

NAIOS

Nice try. But this is my world. I can’t be defeated.

VALERIE

No. I…

NAIOS

I’m tired your antics. Time to experience your worst nightmare.

He waves his hand. Her eyes starts to glow black. And starts to see horrible things.

VALERIE

No. Dad. Mom. Amber. I.. thought I took care of those demons.

Valerie sees more deaths, including Miranda, along with more witches, whom she couldn’t save. Her heart to starts to ache, as her fear is affecting her heart.

NAIOS

That’s it. Feel that heartbreak. My job is done with this one. Onto the mortal.

Naios then just fades away. The scene then switches to a better dream. Valerie awakes in bed, with Miranda by her side. Her heart has stopped aching and light is all around.

VALERIE

Hmm. This is so weird.

MIRANDA

What is weird? Babe.

VALERIE

Babe. It’s been a long time since you call me babe. Or even that close to me.

The Sandman then appears and the scene is erased.

SANDMAN

Hello. Valerie. It’s time to go. You have to save your friends. Miranda. And Olivia. And the Chief.

VALERIE

Who are you? And the Chief of Police was taken too.

SANDMAN

Yes. Along with many others. It took me a while to get to you. Was worried if it was too late to save you.

VALERIE

How do I get out?

SANDMAN

Think of the happiest memory.

VALERIE

Alright.

Valerie thinks of years ago. That moment she had with Miranda. She fades away from the dream world.

SANDMAN

My job is done now. I better be careful before Naios finds me.

The sandman then disappears in golden sparkly like dust.

CUT TO:

INT. DREAM WORLD-THE STREETS-DAY

Maximiliano had just witnessed his worst nightmare, the fear of being shot in the field. A shot wound is shown and he is bleeding. Liam is by his side.

LIAM

I’ll call for help. Maxi.

Naios appears.

NAIOS

I don’t think so. Can’t let this ruin my goals.

He waves his hand and Liam is gone.

MAXIMILIANO

Ah. Why….

NAIOS

This is my job. To make anyone’s worst nightmares come true. And have you heard. If you die in your dream, you die permanently. Later mortal.

Naios then disappears through a black under the ground.

MAXIMILIANO

I can’t die now. Just can’t.

Maximiliano tries to hold on but starts faint from the loss of blood. His fate lies waiting.

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-HEATHER’S BEDROOM-DAY

Heather then wakes up abruptly, and takes off all the stuff that was connected to the monitor that was attached to her on her body. A malevolent grin on her. She then black flames out.

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL- HEATHER’S BEDROOM-DAY(LATER)

Rita arrives in the room with flowers for her daughter, Heather, but finds out that she is gone from her bed.

RITA

Oh no. Heather. But how she… I better go tell the doctor.

She then runs out of the room to find the doctor.

FADE IN:

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY HOSPITAL- MAXIMILIANO’S BEDROOM-DAY

Maximiliano is just recovering in the hospital who is being interrogated by Liam at the moment, a police officer, and also a friend of his.

MAXIMILIANO

That is all I can remember. It was an armed robbery. And the guy. I couldn’t see who is. Stabbed me.

LIAM

Come on. Chief. You can trust me. Is that all you remember?

MAXIMILIANO

Yea. Everything became a blur after I was losing much blood.

LIAM

So what about the height. I know the face was covered.

MAXIMILIANO

Again. The loss of blood blurred my vision after the guy ran away. Sorry I can’t reveal any more.

LIAM

Okay. If you remember everything else, let me know. For now, just rest up.

MAXIMILIANO

Thanks. Liam. For everything.

LIAM

No problem. I’ll see you soon. Okay.

MAXIMILIANO

Liam leaves the room. Maximiliano then starts to think to himself.

MAXIMILIANO

Can’t tell him the real truth. Liam will think I’m crazy. Now I understand what Officer Lang had to deal with when no one believe her. Things are not what it seems in this city.

He then closes his eyes laying down and rests.

CUT TO:

EXT. LANDORS HOUSE-DAY

Two cop cars are outside the house. It seems something urgent has happened.

CUT TO:

INT. LANDORS HOUSE- LIVING ROOM-DAY

Yellow tape is surrounded around the murder scene. Edgar and Rita are seen, dead, eyes wide on the ground. Two officers, RYAN GRANT and FELICITY SIMMONS, are looking around the area for evidence, while the two, who are detectives, JASON PARK, and ELLEN TAN, are examining the body with Jason , wearing gloves, to see any marks that could conclude as them being murdered, and Ellen examines with her eyes.

JASON

No marks. Detective Tan.

ELLEN

So the way their eyes look. It could be heart attack. But what could cause it.

JASON

Hopefully. The medical examiner can figure it out.

Ryan and Felicity then walk over to them.

RYAN

No incriminating evidence.

FELICITY

No foul play. Either. This is a weird case.

JASON

Detective Tan and I have to head back to report the findings from the body.

ELLEN

You two stay until someone to pick up the bodies.

RYAN

You got it. Detectives.

FELICITY

Don’t worry about it. We’ll stay here.

JASON

Thanks. Come on. Detective Tan. Let’s go.

ELLEN

Of course. Detective Park.

Jason and Ellen then walk out as Ryan and Felicity remains in the living room to wait for someone to pick the bodies of Edgar and Rita.

CUT TO:

INT. DREAM WORLD-DAY

Miranda still remains in the dream world as now the scene of the park switches to her being in a mental hospital and strapped to her bed.

CUT TO:

INT. MENTAL HOSPITAL-MIRANDA’S BEDROOM-DAY

Miranda gets a visit from her mother, Valencia. She looks overjoyed.

MIRANDA

Mom. You are here. Get me out of here.

VALENCIA

I’m sorry. Daughter. I want the best for you. You need to get better. No more crazy stories. Those vile feelings. Of that girl.

MIRANDA

Mom. No. Please. Where’s dad. He can explain. I really love her. And my story is not crazy. Some supernatural being did kill my partner.

VALENCIA

Oh. Your father. He died from heartbreak of the shame what you are right now? Miranda. It’s your fault.

Miranda breaks into tears.

MIRANDA

No. That’s not true. Father understands me more.

VALENCIA

Silly girl. Those silly stories. Your father was always on my side.

MIRANDA

No.

Naios is standing there, unseen by the naked eye.

NAIOS

Yes. Yes. Feel the pain.

Miranda starts to feel the pain in her heart.

MIRANDA

Ah no. My..

It starts to ache. Soon, Valerie comes in with Sandman, who appears in a sparkly golden dust with her.

VALERIE

Oh no. You don’t. Not this time.

Naios turns around to see them.

NAIOS

Back again. Witch. I told you. Nothing.

VALERIE

I know. Did some research. Found a potion.

Valerie then throws a potion as grey smoke comes out.

NAIOS

Funny trick. What you…

Then he realizes the scene that Miranda is experiencing fades away.

VALERIE

It’s a nullify potion. Limits use of powers for a few hours.

SANDMAN

I found it in the old records. And finally remembered you. Naios. I had stopped you before. But I couldn’t destroy now till now. Valerie. Do it.

VALERIE

Right.

Valerie freezes him in ice and uses her telekinesis to lift him up in the air ten feet and drops him. He is broken into pieces. The dream world is gone and everyone fades out of it.

CUT TO:

INT. DASHER MANSION- VALERIE’S BEDROOM-DAY

The three of them land on the floor of Valerie’s bedroom. Miranda is shocked for a bit.

VALERIE

You okay. Miranda. And I’m sorry I took so long.

MIRANDA

It felt so real.

SANDMAN

I’ll leave you two be. My job is done.

VALERIE

Thanks. Sandman.

SANDMAN

No problem. My job is to make sure everyone had good dreams.

The Sandman then teleports away in a golden sparkly dust.

MIRANDA

Thanks. Valerie. For saving my life.

VALERIE

I do what I do. It’s my job as a witch to protect innocents.

MIRANDA

Stop denying it. You saved because out of care.

VALERIE

No. I went to others first. Then you. With help with the Sandman, to make them realize. I was late for you because I chose others than you. No need the thanks.

MIRANDA

Valerie. Don’t be that way. Stop this vengeance. I know I hurt you. But….

VALERIE

But what? I know. Being focused on this is going to deter our plan to figure out who killed your partner. And after that, we don’t have to see each other again.

MIRANDA

Val. You don’t mean that. Do you?

VALERIE

Well I do. Besides you can go home now. I made up a story to your parents so they won’t get suspicious.

MIRANDA

What type of story?

VALERIE

Just us hanging out. And it seems your mother sounds upset.

MIRANDA

Ah. Yea. That’s my mom for you. She just needs time to accept my feeling for you.

VALERIE

Oh. So now you are confessing your feelings after you broke my heart all those years ago.

VALERIE

Valerie pulls Miranda into her and kisses passionately. Miranda hesitates and goes in and then pauses.

MIRANDA

MIRANDA

I’m not in the mood. Mom.

VALENCIA

I could tell. But I didn’t want to pester you about it.

Heather is in the bedroom. She is looking at herself in the mirror, sporting some darker clothing now. And is not the same woman before, a kind and caring person. This is version is more malevolent, has a wicked look.

HEATHER

I feel so free now. I’m tired of the life of hunting down demons just to please the council.

Malachi then walks in.

MALACHI

Yes. That annoying council.

HEATHER

Baby. You’re home from work?

MALACHI

Yes. I am. Let me take a quick shower. And we can enjoy each other.

HEATHER

MALACHI

Malachi then heads into the bathroom. On one of Heather’s fingers, a black diamond ring can be seen. It starts to glow black. And in the mirror, the good part of Heather is seen seeming to fade away. Her body shivers a bit fighting back and forth for control.

No. I’m not going to be the old Heather. Not this time.

The good Heather is now overtaken in the darkness seen in the mirror. And now her clothing has changed also to match the one in the real world. And the one in the mirror then fades away. It that both of them have become one.

HEATHER

Heather then sits and wait for Malachi to return on the bed.

I do. But if Valerie keeps bringing up the past. There’s no point.

KAYLIE

MIRANDA

Also. You didn’t have to take a day off managing the club today for me.

He leaves to attend to other customers.

MIRANDA

MIRANDA

Miranda chugs it too and feels the same like Kaylie does, but more tame. She rushes off into the dance floor to dance.

Charlotte peers over while also watching on another side, with Kaylie, who is dancing three handsome men, LANCE, COOPER, and THOMAS, who look to be in their early 30s. And then turns back at the two.

CHARLOTTE

I did say ordering the Shellshocker was a bad idea. At least the two looks like they have made up.

She then heads away from the dance floor toward the bar.

INT. SHELLTASTIC CLUB-BAR COUNTER-DAY

Olivia is there watching from afar at Valerie and Miranda, feeling proud.

OLIVIA

Good thing. I still remember the concoction and slipped into their drinks. Was going to figure an excuse for Valerie to come to Miranda, but then that girl, super drunk, just called her there. And things work as it is.

Charlotte then joins in a seat next to her.

OLIVIA

CHARLOTTE

Ella then begins to awaken, looking very lively. Her eyes stare with desire at Malachi.

ELLA

Malachi takes Ella’s hand and GREEN FLAMES out. A male bystander, had just witnessed accidentally. He gasps.

He runs off as now the alley remains vacant.
