On a dark and stormy San Francisco night, their first in the Manor together, Phoebe, the youngest of the three sisters, battered her way through her older sister's edict and opened the forbidden attic door. Inside, she found an antique chest that seemed to call to her. Inside, covered in dust, was a large tome. Ignorant of the book's source or its abilities, young Phoebe began to read aloud, the first line being "The Book of Shadows". Just after the title page, Phoebe found this "poem"...
Meanwhile, across the Bay in Berkeley 21 year old Social Work major, Paige Matthews, was just starting her senior year at the University of California. Her life was a one of intense study and even more intense socializing, on par with most of her peers in both arenas. Everything was going as planned until one night when Paige was walking alone across campus. Seemingly out of nowhere, a man appeared, crossbow in hand. With a smirk, he fired at the shocked coed who, much to her own surprise, disappeared into a flurry of blue lights...
